Four East Region teams will look to book a seat in the 2014 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, and move closer to reaching the Final Four in Friday's Sweet 16.
The Iowa State Cyclones will face the Connecticut Huskies in the first East Regional semifinals on Friday at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The third-seeded Cyclones booked a spot in the Sweet 16 after scoring an 85-83 win over the North Carolina Tar Heels on Sunday in San Antonio.
DeAndre Kane played big for Iowa State, scoring 24 points on 9-for-18 shooting from the field, including the game-winning layup for the Cyclones. The senior guard also tallied 10 rebounds and seven assists.
The Huskies, on the other hand, are coming off a 77-65 upset win over the second-seeded Villanova Wildcats in their third round showdown on Saturday.
Shabazz Napier had another big game for the Huskies, scoring 25 points on 9-for-13 shooting from the field, while also adding five rebounds and three assists. The senior guard is averaging 24.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in this year's tournament.
The coaching battle between Cyclones coach Fred Hoiberg and Huskies coach Kevin Ollie is also something to watch out for as the two coaches were former teammates in the NBA.
In his tournament debut in 2012, Hoiberg led the Cyclones to a victory over the Huskies when Ollie was still an assistant to Jim Calhoun.
The winner of the Iowa State-Connecticut game will face either the Virginia Cavaliers or the Michigan State Spartans for a Final Four berth.
The top-seeded Cavaliers and the fourth-seeded Spartans will collide after the Cyclones-Huskies game.
The Cavaliers, who bagged the ACC Tournament title for the first time in 38 years earlier this month, are coming off impressive wins over the Coast Carolina Chanticleers, 70-59, in the first round, and against the Memphis Tigers, 78-60, in the second round.
The Spartans, on the other hand, ended Harvard Crimson's title hopes with an 80-73 win. Adreian Payne, who erupted for 41 points in their second-round win over Delaware, had 12 points and four rebounds against Harvard.

The Connecticut-Iowa State match will start at 7:27 p.m. EST, followed by the Michigan State-Virginia showdown at 9:57 p.m. EST. Both games will be shown live on TBS, while online streaming will be available via March Madness Live.
