Apparently, "Fifty Shades of Grey" star Jamie Dornan used "Sex and the City" as a study guide to prep for sex scenes.

Dornan and his "New Worlds" co-star Joe Dempsie reportedly spent lots of time watching Carrie Bradshaw and the gang in order to get in the mood for raunchy scenes, said Dempsie.

"Joe and I watched all the 'Sex and the City' box sets - twice. That helped...We had a ball, it was a good [fun]," admitted the "Game of Thrones" actor to The Sun newspaper.

He says the classic New York City-based TV series helped boost his acting confidence when it came to shooting sex scenes, particularly on "New Worlds," which is a new TV historical drama series.

The 31-year-old Irish model plays the role of kinky billionaire Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of the notorious erotic novel. Before the movie is released next year, Dornan's new project will premiere first on Channel 4.

According to the Daily Mail, Dornan also pointed out that actors can have a lot of fun on set when there is a strong camaraderie between the cast.

"Obviously we're getting the work done but you're allowed to have fun at work - I'd stop if I wasn't allowed to have fun," said Dempsie referring to being on set at "New Worlds."

Dakota Johnson co-stars in the film as Christian Grey's love interest, Anastasia, in the highly anticipated movie.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" is set to be released on Valentine's Day in 2015.
