The Shield appears to be heading toward a face turn with Wrestlemania 30 a couple of weeks away and the card slowly taking shape.
The Shield will not be a part of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal - with Intercontinental Champion Big E, Ryback, Curtis Axel, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Fandango, Damien Sandow, Titus O'Neil, Christian, Sheamus, the Big Show, Mark Henry, The Miz, Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, Goldust, and 3 MB's Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal, and Drew McIntyre scheduled to participate in the 30-man Over-the-top-rope Battle Royal - and looking at a possible showdown against WWE Director of Operations Kane and the New Age Outlaws.
The Shield will likely face Corporate Kane and the New Age Outlaws at Wrestlemania 30 in a Six-Man Tag Team bout after the former six-time WWE Tag Champions asked to work with the stable before they are split up. "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn and "Road Dogg" Jesse James were rumored to face the current WWE Tag Team Champions the Usos in a rematch after losing the titles to the young siblings, with The Shield going up against Luke Harper and Erick Rowan of the Wyatt Family before the face turn.
The Usos may defend their titles against the team of Ryback and Curtis Axel and the Real Americans in Tag Team Triple Threat match while The Shield will take on Corporate Kane and the New Age Outlaws in a Six-Man Tag Team bout, using The Shield's face turn to help push Roman Reigns as a singles wrestler while keeping U.S. Champion Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins together as a tag team unit.
Thus far, the Wrestlemania 30 card includes the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, John Cena slated to face Bray Wyatt, the Undertaker putting his 21-0 Wrestlemania undefeated streak on the line against former UFC champion Brock Lesnar, and Daniel Bryan battles Triple H, with the winner granted a spot in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against current titleholder Randy Orton and Royal Rumble winner Batista in the main event.
Rey Mysterio, who recently dispelled rumors that he was returning to Mexico to compete for AAA, is believed to be re-signing with the WWE when his current contract expires this year. PWInsider.com reports that Mysterio is expected to be back with the company, especially after being included the new Flintstones-WWE animated movie collaboration which is set to premiere in time for next year's Wrestlemania 31. Mysterio told Mexico's SuperLuchas.net that he has no plans to retire any time soon and would love to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame someday, saying that while he has nothing against AAA, he has no plans to compete for the Mexican wrestling company in the near-future.
"I want to stay in the WWE because it's my home and where I want to end my career," said Mysterio.
