Four teams in the 2014 NCAA Tournament East Region will look to move one step closer to the Final Four as they continue their quest for glory on Saturday.
The 12th-seeded Harvard Crimson will look to score another upset when they take on the fourth-seeded Michigan State Spartans at the Spokane Arena in Washington.
Harvard advanced to the third round for the second straight year after pulling off a 61-57 upset against the fifth-seeded Cincinnati Bearcats in their second round showdown on Thursday.
Senior guard Brandyn Curry, who scored nine points in their victory over the Bearcats, knows that it won't be easy, but vowed to go all out to surpass their Cinderella run last season when they lost to the Arizona Wildcats in the third round.
Standing in their way this year are the Spartans, who are considered one of the favorites to win it all this year.
The Spartans took the fight out of the Delaware Fighting Blue Hens in the second round, scoring a dominating 93-78 win on Thursday behind Adreian Payne's career night.
Payne, who is playing in his final year in college, erupted for 41 points on 10-for-15 shooting from the field and 17-for-17 shooting from the free-throw line, while also adding eight rebounds and a block.
Meanwhile, the second-seeded Villanova Wildcats and the seventh-seeded Connecticut Huskies will also look to advance to the Sweet 16 when they collide at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, N.Y.
The Wildcats had a slow start in their second round showdown against the 15th-seeded Milwaukee Panthers, but they quickly regrouped in the second half to run away with a 73-53 blowout win on Thursday.
The Huskies, on the other hand, had to do it the hard way to advance to the third round, escaping with an 89-81 victory in overtime against the Saint Joseph Hawks on Thursday.
The Huskies leaned on senior guard Shabazz Napier, who finished with 24 points to go along with eight rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
