Spring may be here, but spring weather hasn't arrived just yet.

Weather models show that there is a possibility of an early spring storm next week, according to Gawker.

A major nor'easter--which is being called a "nor'easter bomb"-- could arrive early next week and could bring snow to areas from North Carolina to Canada. While the situation is still very fluid at this point, there is evidence that a storm could hit the Northeast.

A nor'easter may land east of New England on Tuesday and Wednesday before hitting Atlantic Canada with heavy snowfall and strong winds. The heaviest precipitations will be mostly out at sea, although eastern New England, including Boston and Cape Cod, could see the brunt of the snow.

If there is a strong low pressure system that tracks closer to the east coast, it could bring a major snowfall to heavily populated areas from the Appalachians to the I-95 corridor. If the system tracks further out to sea, it could bring a smaller storm to the East Coast.

A forecast from Thursday night from the Weather Prediction Center finds that the nor'easter is close to the coast, which gives a better chance for snowfall farther inland.

"This is going to be a very strong storm, there's no question about that," said Sam DeAlba, a meteorologist with WeatherWorks. "There isn't anything indicating it won't be at this point."

Yet, other meteorologists are not so sure.

"All the cards are still on the table," said Gary Szatkowski, meteorologist-in-charge at the National Weather Service's Mount Holly office. "This has the potential to be a very significant storm. The potential is there, but it is too soon to get any more focused than that."

Late March storms can be especially severe, as the changing season can produce powerful results.

"Storms feed on the contrast between warmth and cold," Szatkowski said. "So when you get conditions like this you can produce some pretty spectacular storms."
