After nine seasons, "How I Met Your Mother" fans are only a week away from the series finale on March 31. However, before it is finally revealed exactly how Ted met The Mother, CBS will air the penultimate episode "End of the Aisle" next Monday.

The second to last episode of the Emmy Award-winning series begins as the gang is waiting for Robin and Barney's impending nuptials on Long Island half an hour before the ceremony. According to CarterMatt, the episode will bring back the moment that was often featured in many other past finales and premieres, where the two characters are seen freaking out over actually tying the knot.

The official synopsis for the episode reads, "With only a half-hour to go, both Barney and Robin have panic attacks about their upcoming nuptials. Meanwhile, Marshall and Lily rewrite their old wedding vows."

In the build up to the series finale, "Last Forever," TVLine surmised that future Ted is suffering from Alzheimer's and he's telling his kids the story before his memory vanishes. Actress Alyson Hannigan also teased that the show has a curveball or two in store for her character Lily and Marshall.

"There are a lot of answers to questions that you didn't know you had - or never knew to ask," said Hannigan. "They really, definitely give the fans everything in the series finale." She went on to say that Robin's endgame surprised her the most. "Although I guess that's not really a surprise, because it's sort of been addressed in the past. You'll see."

In addition, actor Josh Radnor dropped a one-word teaser, using the word "circle" to describe Ted's final scene ever. He added that the finale "delivers everything that people love about the show. It roams all over time the way our show does. I think it's a really great example of what we do best."

CBS disclosed a dozen photos from the last episode showing that Robin and Ted engage in one of their favorite pastimes before meeting up years later, Barney takes a look inside of The Playbook and the gang share a touching group hug.

"End of the Aisle" is set to air on Monday, March 24, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
