Damon and Elena may rekindle their old flame in the all-new episode of "The Vampire Diaries" this week now that she is back from body banishment.

In the last installment, "Gone Girl," Katherine, the evil doppelganger that fans love to hate, was dragged out of the church to hell. However, although Elena is back, she will suffer from the Ripper virus in the upcoming episode, "While You Were Sleeping," reports WetPaint.

In a promo video for Episode 16, Elena turns to Damon for help, asking "How exactly do we cure this?"

Meanwhile, Stefan and Caroline will try to save Elena by seeking out Enzo in a rail yard. "You have the antidote to the Ripper virus, correct?" Stefan asks Enzo, who looks away coyly.

In the following scene, the Ripper virus appears to take control of Elena as she is seen burning things in a bonfire and dancing on top of a table at a party. She also frantically asks, "What's happening to me, Damon?" However, Damon responds very nonchalantly, telling his ex-girlfriend, "Oh, yeah, it sucks. Oof. You're gonna be craving carbs constantly."

Later, the couple are seen in the same room in the Salvatore mansion, where Elena screams out "I love you!" To which an impassioned Damon yells, "Then stop loving me." Elena insists, "I can't" and then the two share a passion-filled kiss.

According to TVLine, the pair's reunion will get pretty steamy and involve major action. "There's some sexy time happening. Exes, man. What are you going to do?" teased actor Ian Somerhalder.

Furthermore, in the last few minutes of "While You Were Sleeping" Damon and Elena will reportedly have a new agreement in regards to their relationship.

In the build up to Episode 16, TVD released an exclusive clip in which Jeremy and Matt taunt Damon while he is chained up. Jeremy and Matt are seen bringing the Ripper Virus-infected vampire a cup of blood, but he sets it on the floor out of Damon's reach.

"Hilarious. Give me the damn cup," Damon demands, and Jeremy slowly pushes it over to him. Damon replies "You wipe that smile off your face."

"Hey, you're lucky I'm even helping you," Jeremy retorts, "considering the last thing you did for me was tell Enzo to strangle me to death."

Later, Matt takes the opportunity to threaten to tell Elena that Damon killed her friend. "Yeah, more than we can say for Aaron Whitmore. Weren't he and Elena tight? Does she know Damon killed him?" Jeremy snaps.

Damon cuts in: "No. She doesn't. Because I'm gonna be the one to tell her. And, if either one of you clowns beats me to it, I'll rip your tongue out."

"The Vampire Diaries" S5E16, "While You Were Sleeping," airs on the CW on Thursday, March 20 at 8 p.m. EST.
