Callie and Arizona had a breakthrough in their complicated relationship on the latest installment of "Grey's Anatomy."
The episode "Throwing It All Away" starts with turmoil for Callie (Sara Ramirez). The government hold on Derek's (Patrick Dempsey) sensors puts their research on hold, and she finds out that Leah's complaint was lodged against her, not Arizona.
Then, after Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) breaks Arizona's (Jessica Capshaw) prosthetic leg in a gurney incident, Arizona explains to Callie that she has been trying to feel like herself again post-amputation. She tearfully tells Callie that she needs her, and Callie later helps her wife re-learn how to skate.
Meanwhile, Cristina (Sandra Oh) questions Owen (Kevin McKidd) about his breakup with Emma. Cristina admits that she doesn't know if she's happy or sad about the breakup.
Stephanie claims Jackson (Jesse Williams) as another hit-and-run victim. As the two are filling out accident reports, he tells her that he feels bad for dumping her at the wedding in an embarrassing, humiliating way. But she tells him that she doesn't care, and that she's unequivocally over him.
Alex (Justin Chambers) gets suspended from surgery for three days for his romantic entanglement, and Jo (Camilla Luddington) gets moved out of pediatrics.
Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) comes up with a solution: he offers Alex a "love contract" from HR that will give the couple permission to be together. He's reluctant to sign it because he fears that Jo will not agree to it.
On the next episode, "We Gotta Get Out of This Place," "It's Richard's birthday and Bailey invites him to scrub in on the case of a lifetime. Meredith hires a research assistant to help with her portal vein project, and a scorned Callie gives Derek quite the shock. Meanwhile, Shane helps screen candidates for Cristina's clinical trial and meets a young expectant mother who needs his help."
