Kobe Bryant has called out the Los Angeles Lakers' top executives, telling the team's leadership it's time to make improvements in the offseason, and reports indicate that the Lakers might consider trading their pick in the 2014 NBA Draft—possibly creating some room to pursue All-Star Kevin Love.

L.A. Times writer Ed Pincus suggested that the Lakers should deal their 2014 draft pick, which could turn out to be a high pick in the draft that is considered as one of the deepest since the 2003 NBA Draft that featured LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony.

The Lakers could acquire a future franchise player with their pick, but Pincus noted that Bryant is demanding a quick fix and getting a young prospect will not likely help their cause next season. That could force the Lakers to trade their pick for a proven veteran like Love.

The Minnesota Timberwolves could be interested in trading Love for a high draft pick, knowing that the superstar forward could bolt and the Wolves could get nothing in return when Love hits free agency in 2015.

It is widely believed that Love will look to sign with a new team in the summer of 2015.

Love's impending free agency won't be a concern for the Lakers, as sources indicated that the 25-year-old superstar is very interested in playing for L.A.

"Kevin Love can opt out of his contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves after next season. Given the Timberwolves continue to struggle on the wrong side of the playoff bubble, Love may look to relocate after the 2014-15 season," the L.A. Times noted.

A trade before the 2014 NBA Draft is possible, but the Lakers will have to wait until July before the deal gets finalized.

"The Lakers would have to wait until they have cap room in July, but a verbal agreement can be reached on draft night with the Lakers picking for Minnesota," the LA Times added.

The Lakers could also make a run at acquiring Boston Celtics star Rajon Rondo if a trade for Love cannot be negotiated.

Kyrie Irving was also mentioned as a possible trade target, but the Cleveland Cavaliers are not expected to entertain trade offers for the superstar point guard.
