No one could have predicted that last week's episode of "The Originals" would be Claire Holt's last show as a featured cast member. However, now that her character Rebekah Mikaelson has officially left New Orleans, the series will continue on without her.
In the last episode, "Farewell to Storyville," Klaus spared his sister Rebekah's life and she said her final goodbyes to the French Quarter. According to BuzzFeed, it was Holt's decision for her character to leave the show. Although she will not be a series regular anymore, fans still hope that she will return for future guest appearances. Inside sources claim that Holt never intended to play Rebekah for as long as she did.
Now that Rebekah has left New Orleans for good, the Mikaelson brothers will be left to run the French Quarter, but it appears that Elijah is worried that Klaus is letting their regime squander away. As a result, Elijah will take matters into his own hands when the series returns on March 18.
During the upcoming episode, "Moon Over Bourbon Street," Elijah will throw an extravagant party in an effort to bring the city together after receiving a show of support from a beautiful woman named Francesca. He will also share an intimate moment with Hayley, while Klaus will make a tempting offer to Jackson. Later, Klaus will get close with Genevieve, and the two may even share a steamy kiss, reports WetPaint. But, knowing Klaus, he probably has an ulterior motive, warns TVLine.
In a promo video, Elijah asks his little brother, "Are you suggesting we throw a party?" Klaus responds, "The best this city's ever seen," with a devilish twinkle in his eye.
In another scene, Elijah and Hayley share an emotional dance at the party.
The preview also jumps to a clip where Elijah says, "It's bedlam out there: Witches attacking vampires. Vampires devouring locals."
The next clip shows Klaus sharing a toast with Elijah while saying, "Here's to a spectacularly boring evening."
According to Dread Central, the CW issued a synopsis for Episode 17, which reads:
"After accusing Klaus of doing nothing while their control over the Quarter crumbles, Elijah makes a move to take matters into his own hands. He receives an intriguing offer of support from Francesca (guest star Peta Sergeant), a beautiful woman from a powerful New Orleans family. In an attempt to bring the warring factions of the city together, the Mikaelsons throw an extravagant party. It's here where Klaus offers Jackson (guest star Nathan Parsons) a tempting deal, Elijah and Hayley share an intimate dance, and a violent fight comes to a surprising end."
The preview continues, "Finally, even as Marcel works on a new path to power, he continues to help Cami deal with her Uncle Kieran's tragedy."
"The Originals" S1E17, "Moon Over Bourbon Street," airs Tuesday, March 18 at 8 p.m. EST on the CW.
