On the latest episode of "The Fosters," Marianna has an awkward dinner and Callie and Jude receive big news.
In "Don't Let Go," Callie (Maia Mitchell) pays a visit to her dad. He says that he waited to contact them because he wanted to be sure he was stable so he could get her and Jude (Hayden Byerly) back.
When Callie gets back home, she asks Jude how he would feel if their father won custody of them. Jude is a bit apprehensive, and Callie is nervous that they could get hurt by having contact with their father.
Meanwhile, Brandon (David Lambert) is getting accustomed to living with his father, Mike (Danny Nucci). His father persuaded him to take back up piano, as he is musically gifted.
At school, Jesus (Jake T. Austin) is having trouble studying and understanding math without his ADHD medication.
Marianna (Cierra Ramirez) is invited to dinner by Zac's (Julian de la Celle) mother.
Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum) meet with Timothy, a schoolteacher who is offering to be the sperm donor for Lena. Lena is on board with it, so Stef consents, even though she has some reservations.
That night, Marianna is at dinner with Zac and his mother. She reconciles with Zac, and the two act as if their short-lived breakup never happened. Then Marianna discovers that Zac's mother is not stable, and that Zac didn't call her back the day they kissed because he was embarrassed about his mom.
At dinner, Zac's mother gives him and Callie--who are both minors--big glasses of wine, and toasts the day her husband walked out on her. It makes for an awkward situation when she storms away from the table, muttering to herself.
Meanwhile, Brandon tells his father's girlfriend that he will not be staying with them for long because he wants to return to his family. At the same time, Callie is revisiting her own father, who tells her that he never wrote to her because he felt guilty, but that he's back and wants to support them.
At breakfast the next day, Jude says he doesn't want to see their father, but everyone convinces him that he should go see him because he may regret it later on.
Timothy then goes over to the house to give Lena his sperm. Jesus sees him leaving the bathroom with a cup, and wonders what's going on. Later, Lena and Stef tell everyone that they plan to have a baby the natural way.
Callie and Jude's father then shows up to tell them that he loves them, but he's signing away his rights because he could never provide for them the way Stef and Lena have. Callie and Jude can now be officially adopted by Stef and Lena.
On the next installment, "Metropolis," "Brandon's mistakes catch up to him when a classmate plots against him. The Winter Ball causes the twins to stress about dates. Someone visits to make amends with Callie. Ana returns with distressing news."
Watch the promo for "Metropolis" below, which airs Monday, March 17 at 9 p.m. EST.
