Kobe Bryant remains injured with a knee injury and the Los Angeles Lakers superstar could very well be ruled out for the remainder of the 2013-14 NBA season, reports indicated on Tuesday.

The Lakers are set to announce that Bryant, who has only played in six games this season, will miss the rest of the season, Bleacher Report NBA columnist Kevin Ding reported.

The 35-year-old superstar will not travel with team on their trip to San Antonio and Oklahoma City in order to have his knee reexamined. The reexamination is reportedly just some sort of formality before the Lakers finalize their decision to sit Bryant out for their remaining games.

"Bryant is not accompanying the team on its trip to Oklahoma City and San Antonio, staying back to be reexamined by team doctor Steve Lombardo. And considering where Bryant's level of discomfort remains with the fractured lateral tibial plateau in his left knee, barring an unforeseen change, the team will finalize the decision that Bryant will not play again this season," Ding wrote.

Bryant missed the Lakers' first 19 games this season; he was still recovering from a surgery that repaired a torn Achilles tendon he sustained last season.

Just as the Lakers said they thought Bryant had already regained his old form, the 16-time All-Star went down with a fractured left knee. He was initially ruled out for only a few weeks, but it looks like his fractured knee will turn into a season-ending injury.

In an interview with Kustoo on Saturday, Bryant expressed frustration about his recovery, saying that his recovery has been slow and he is still limited to performing certain activities.

"It's progressing slowly. It really tests my patience," Bryant said. "There's only so much I can do. I find myself relegated to a bike. The first few weeks, it's cool. I'm getting a good workout in. Third or fourth, I'm thinking I need to do something else. I want to play. I want to run. I want to do something different."

Bryant, who signed a two-year extension worth $48.5 million earlier in the season, averaged 13.8 points to go along with 6.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds.
