On the latest "Nashville," Scarlett faced more heartbreak, and Rayna dealt with financial troubles.
In "Guilty Street," Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) is being wooed by record companies after her new single becomes a smash hit.
Meanwhile, Deacon (Charles Esten) heads out on the road without his girlfriend.
Rayna (Connie Britton) is having some financial issues after her sister takes charge of her finances. A few of Rayna's checks have bounced, so Rayna tells Tandy (Judith Hoag) to make sure to get everything back in order.
Avery (Jonathan Jackson), Gunnar (Sam Palladio) and Zoey (Chaley Rose) are trying to figure out a great name for their band, but Avery begins blowing them off because Gunnar has taken over the operation.
Will (Chris Carmack) is back to sleeping with Layla (Aubrey Peeples), whose single is not doing well on the charts. Unsurprisingly, the "couple's" love life is suffering as well.
Scarlett (Clare Bowen) is singing--and sleeping--with Liam (Michiel Huisman). Rayna tells off Liam for taking advantage of Scarlett, and explains that Scarlett is a fragile person. She tells him to break it off with Scarlett, and fires him. Liam breaks up with Scarlett, leaving her heartbroken.
Meanwhile, Teddy (Eric Close) goes through Peggy's (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) things, and finds out that Peggy was lying about being pregnant.
Jeff (Oliver Hudson) tries to lure Juliette back to Edgehill records by promising Avery $250,000 to produce a record. Yet, Avery doesn't want to ride on Juliette's coattails, so Juliette rejects Jeff's offer.
Deacon runs into an old friend from AA while in Virginia, and his friend tries to make a move on him. He rejects her advances because of his girlfriend, Megan. Yet, at that very moment, Megan is kissing Teddy.
Rayna then ends her working relationship with Tandy, saying she needs a break from her family.
At the end of the episode, Juliette goes to Rayna and asks to sign her to Highway 65. Rayna agrees, prompting the continuation of their love/hate relationship.
On the next episode, "We've Got Things To Do," "Juliette will be feeling upstaged by Rayna's new artist announcements and will decide to take matters into her own hands. Will is going to offer Deacon an opportunity of a lifetime, though he finds the excitement short-lived after noticing Megan's strange behavior. Teddy will be at odds with Maddie when he finds out she is fixated with her music, and Will is going to be concerned about his past catching up with him, so he will make Layla an offer she can't refuse."
Watch the promo for the next episode below, which airs Wednesday at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
