The Chicago Bulls are expected to shake up their roster this summer, but trading Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson is reportedly not part of their offseason plans.

ESPN Chicago insider Nick Friedell believes that the Bulls have no plan to shop Derrick Rose this summer despite the superstar being sidelined again by a second major knee injury.

The source indicated that the Bulls are committed to winning with Rose on their roster, and the Bulls are also aware that they won't get much in return if they decide to part ways with Rose in the next three seasons.

"The Bulls are not going to trade Derrick Rose," Friedell noted. "It's not going to happen. Even if they wanted to, no team would give the Bulls anything close to market value for Rose because of all his injury concerns. The Bulls are married to Derrick for at least three more years. He's not going anywhere."

On whether Rose can still regain his old deadly form, Friedell was confident the All-Star point guard is still one of the most skilled players in the league, but was unsure how long Rose can stay healthy.

"I've said all along I still think Rose will get back to being one of the best players in the league. He still has plenty of talent," Friedell noted. "The question is the same, though. Will he be able to stay healthy throughout an entire 82-game season? It's an answer nobody knows."

Friedell also indicated that the Bulls have no plans to deal Gibson, who is having a breakout season this year, averaging 13.5 points and 6.7 rebounds a game.

Previous reports indicated that the Bulls offered Gibson to the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, and Charlotte Bobcats before the trade deadline, but Chicago eventually decided to keep the 28-year-old forward.

According to Friedell, the Bulls will only consider trading Gibson if it leads to landing a superstar like Carmelo Anthony via trade or free agency this summer.

"I don't see any scenario in which the Bulls trade Gibson other than if they can land Melo or another star," Friedell noted. "The Bulls love Taj; the only reason they would move him is if they had to clear out enough cap space to sign a superstar. Taj is playing the best basketball of his career right now."
