William Levy revealed that his new Telenovela "La Tempestad" is filled with lots of action and that he wanted his U.S. audience to love the soap opera.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the Cuban actor said he was excited to return to the telenovela. "I'm excited to return to telenovelas with this production. It's an action-filled, romantic drama. In fact, one of my first scenes is a full blown battle with pirates. I know my U.S. fan base, and they will love this action-packed drama that is also a beautiful love story," said Levy.

He continued: "It's a great production that was filmed on location in beautiful Veracruz, and it has a great cast."

Levy said that he loved the telenovela's script and that it was the reason he took the project. "This was a great opportunity for me because the novela has good elements. I simply loved the script. Besides 'La Tempestad,' I have two movies coming up next year: 'Addicted' and 'Single Moms Club,' both Lionsgate productions," he explained.

The actor is playing Capitan Damian Fabre who must fight through plenty of obstacles in order to win the love of Marian Reverte played by Ximena Navarrete.

The new series is said to be the most expensive production ever produced by Televisa. Christina Aguilera and Alejandro Fernandez sang the theme song, "Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti," and premiered their music video on YouTube. The series also stars Ivan Sanchez, Laura Carmine, Jessica Coch, Arturo Peniche, Marianna Seoane, Robert Blandon, Diana Bracho, Cesar Evora, Alfonso Herrera, Latin Lover and Luis Manuel Avila. "La Tempestad" is based on the Colombian telenovela "La Tormenta."

"La Tempestad's" first episode aired on July 29 on Univision at 9 p.m.
