You probably thought fashion week couldn't get any kookier, but somehow, the fashion world continues to outdo itself.

In a month that brought us a ring of fire and a high-fashion grocery store, Iris Van Herpen took it up a notch by shrink wrapping models that remained as the backdrop for the show.

The Dutch designer is no stranger to weird; her clothing has been made out of plastic and has been 3-D printed. She makes very fashion-forward choices, and for fall 2014, models were vacuum-packed into large plastic bags, where they seemed to use a tube that fed them oxygen, and were suspended in the air. We're not entirely sure how it came together and how comfortable the models were, but this is definitely not for the claustrophobic.

According to StyleList Canada, some of the models remained motionless, but others moved around.

Artists Lawrence Malstaf created the runway installation that featured Iekeliene Stange and Soo Joo Park, among other models.

Van Herpen decided to make her show even more memorable.

Models walked in absolutely ridiculous shoes that rival the Alexander McQueen armadillo shoes that are also difficult to walk in.

The shoes had some sort of shin guard covering that wrapped around the knees, and they didn't have heels. A rep for United Nude said it collaborated with Julia Koerner to create the shoes, according to Fashionista. They have a seven-inch platform.

These shoes might be used in many editorials this coming fall since they'll shock and be edgy, but they won't be wearable in real life. That is unless you are Lady Gaga.

The singer typically wears shoes that are hard to walk in, and she has been pictured needing help to go around in her heavy platformed shoes.
