The 2014 edition of the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship kicks off Thursday at the Trump National Doral in Miami, Fla.

World's No. 1 golfer Tiger Woods will look to bag the tournament title for the second straight year, but he will have to defend his title with an ailing back.

Woods' participation in the tournament was in doubt after he withdrew from the Honda Classic on Sunday due to back stiffness, but he announced on Wednesday that he will make it to Florida to defend his Cadillac Championship title.

"I feel better," Woods said in a CBS Sports interview. "It's been a long couple days of just treatment non-stop, trying to get everything calmed down. Treatment has gotten me to the point where I am now and then tomorrow I'll go all out."

Woods' WGC-Cadillac title defense will not be a walk in the park, since he is locked in a strong field featuring 50 of the world's top-ranked golfers this year, who will navigate a course that is considered one of the toughest for a non-major event.

Aside from Woods, Jason Day is also one of the players to watch in the tournament.

Day is coming off an impressive performance at the Accenture Match Play Championship almost two weeks ago. He will look to join Woods and Phil Mickelson as the only players to win two WGC titles in a season.

Adam Scott is also expected to go all out as he tries to eclipse Woods in the world rankings. If Scott finishes on top of the field and Woods end up lower than sixth, the 33-year-old Aussie will become the new world's No. 1 golfer after the tournament.

Scott and Woods are scheduled to kick of their campaign along with Henrik Stenson at 12:39 p.m. EST.

The WGC-Cadillac Championship will air exclusively on Golf Channel on Thursday at 1 p.m. EST, two hours after the start time of the tournament. Live streaming will also be available through The Golf Channel's stream and through CBS Sports.

The complete tee times are available via WGC's official website. The complete leaderboard is available here
