Juventus star Arturo Vidal dismissed rumors suggesting that he is planning to move to Barcelona or Real Madrid this summer, insisting that he is determined to win a title with his current club.
Vidal, who is having a great season so far with Juventus, denied reports that he has already scheduled meetings with Barca and Real about a possible transfer after the current season.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Vidal insisted that he is not yet thinking about his future, saying that he is focused on helping Juventus win a title in the Italian Serie A this year. The star midfielder also added that he is setting his sights on Chile's campaign in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
"Join Real Madrid or Barcelona? That's ridiculous! All I want is to win the league with Juventus and have a good World Cup," said Vidal, who has netted 11 goals for Juventus in the Italian Serie A this season.
The 26-year-old midfielder also scored five goals in six Champions League games, and his performance in Turin did not go unnoticed as he attracted the interest of the top-tier European clubs.
Aside from the La Liga powerhouse clubs, Vidal has been on Manchester United's radar over the past several years, but Juventus has remained firm in their stance to keep Vidal in Turin.
The Chile international star said that he is honored that top European teams are interested in acquiring him, but he reiterated that he will fulfill his commitment with Juventus.
"Of course I'm honored that there are clubs asking after me, but I'm determined to reach my goals in Bianconero [Juventus] and in Italy, not in Spain. My one objective is to work hard every day and make my contribution to the club, and to win two titles -- the scudetto (Serie A title) and the Europa League," Vidal said.
Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta also insisted that the club has no interest in moving Vidal or their other top players, insisting that the club is determined to win several titles in Europe in the coming years. Selling players won't help them reach their goals, he said.
"We are honored that the great clubs are interested in our players, but we want to improve in Europe too," Marotta told Talk Sport. "We want to sign players, not sell them. Vidal is happy here and we are happy with him, so I really think that he will stay."
