The Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, and Oklahoma City Thunder are all reportedly planning to make a strong push to sign veteran free agents in hopes of solidifying their title chances this season.

According to reports, the Heat, Spurs, Clippers, and Thunder are all looking at veteran forwards Caron Butler and Danny Granger.

The Sun-Sentinel reported that Butler, who is expected to receive a buyout from the Milwaukee Bucks before Saturday's deadline, is reportedly interested in returning to the Miami Heat.

Butler, who has been seeking a way out of Milwaukee after not getting enough playing time during the first half of the season, started his NBA career with the Miami Heat when he was drafted 10th overall in 2002.

Heat forward Udonis Haslem, who, along with Dwyane Wade, played with Butler in Miami before, said that Butler would be a good addition to their team as they try to capture their third consecutive title this season.

"It'd be great. He's a great locker room guy. He's a professional and a hard worker. It would be great to have an opportunity to play with him again," Haslem said of Butler, who is averaging 11.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game this season.

With Butler looking like he's headed to Miami, the Western Conference rivals—Spurs, Thunder, and Clippers—will have a tug-of-war for Granger, who reached a buyout agreement with the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Clippers appear to be the front-runner in the race to sign Granger, who averaged 8.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in 29 games with the Pacers this season.

The 30-year-old forward is reportedly intrigued with the possibility of getting major playing time with the Clippers, and will also have a chance to strongly contend for a title this season.

"Once Granger clears waivers in the next 48 hours, the Clippers' ability to offer him significant playing time and championship contention under coach Doc Rivers makes them the most attractive destination," a sourced told Yahoo Sports.

The Spurs are reportedly the next team on Granger's list of preferred destinations. Sources said that the Spurs are trying to entice Granger by promising a role similar to the previous role Robert Horry had in San Antonio several years back.
