Bulgarian netter Grigor Dimitrov, the boyfriend of former world's No. 1 female tennis player Maria Sharapova, played mini-tennis on a floating platform with up-and-coming women's tennis star Genie Bouchard, and then took a plunge together into the beautiful waters of Acapulco on Monday to kick start the Mexican Open.

Also known as Baby Fed, Dimitrov admitted that he really enjoyed the unique experience he had with the Canadian beauty.

"This is definitely the best experience I've ever had on tour," Dimitrov said in an interview this week via ATP World Tour. "I was happy to be able to do something like this. It is pretty special and we definitely have something to talk about in the future. It was nice to get to do this in such good weather, great city. It was very exciting!"

Meanwhile, Bouchard also expressed the excitement she had during her first helicopter ride, though she admitted it scared her a bit.

"It was my first time in one. I'd never experienced it before, and they opened the doors as well, so it was a bit scary! But it was so beautiful seeing all the buildings and all of the mountains," Bouchard said of the experience via Tennis Tonic.

The two played mini tennis on a floating platform off the coast of Acapulco. After a few games, the two decided to dive into the blue seas of Acapulco, where a private yacht was waiting for them.

"I've never played tennis on water before, so now I can say I did that! Grigor and I played a few points and it was really hot out there, so we were just like, 'Let's jump in.' We really had so much fun - it's probably the best tournament activity I've ever done!" Bouchard told the Daily Mail.

Performance on the Court

Dimitrov cruised to the second round of the Mexican Open following his 7-5, 6-1 victory over Australian Marinko Matosevic. The Bulgarian will next take on veteran Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus in the next round.

On the other hand, Bouchard opened her Mexican Open campaign with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Shahar Peer. Up next, she will play Lara Arruabarrena of Spain.
