Google announced Android 4.3 Wednesday, and the reveal has many OEMs scrambling to keep their lineups fresh and updated. While Sony has come out with an official statement regarding which devices will get Android 4.3, rival smartphone manufacturer Samsung has only sidestepped the question.

When asked by TechRadar when Samsung consumers can expect Android 4.3 to start landing on Samsung devices, the company had this to say:

"Samsung UK will confirm upgrade plans to Android 4.3 to selected Galaxy devices in the coming months."

The dubious response is bound to frustrate Samsung Galaxy S3 owners, who have been fed multiple storylines on when the next Android update could arrive. The latest developments indicate that Samsung will be skipping Android 4.2.2 and instead opt to roll out Android 4.3 sometime around November.

Samsung has not officially validated the news, however, an Australian wireless carrier has confirmed that the Galaxy Note 2 will be skipping Android 4.2.2, and Samsung tends to update the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series equally. There's also been a leak of an Android 4.3 build running on a Galaxy S3, straight from the Samsung India R&D insider who tipped the information in the first place.

There isn't much Samsung Galaxy S3 owners can do at the moment except sit tight and wait until the South Korean electronics giant releases some concrete dates. Android 4.3 isn't a major upgrade from Android 4.1.2, so there's not much that is being missed out on, still, there's a general consensus among Galaxy S3 owners that Samsung would be wise to give them some kind of a bone.

Let us know if you're a Samsung Galaxy S3 owner and if Samsung's delay tactics are beginning to cause you to think of switching to another phone manufacturer in the comments section below.
