Constant wedding rumors have plagued William Levy and Elizabeth Gutiérrez, but it's now been reported that the two are engaged.

According to TV y Novelas, William Levy proposed to the actress on Christmas. Igar Haimov, who is Levy's friend and the owner of a jewelry store, spoke to the magazine about the ring.

"Yes, it's a very beautiful ring. The ring has 30 diamonds set on 18 karat white gold, a tri-diamond, which is just spectacular," Haimov told the tabloid. 

The ring was designed by the Cuban actor. "No, it was made specifically for her," he continued. "The model of the ring is Eternity, made with a modified large diamond ring in the center at William's request," he said.

Levy and Gutiérrez met on "Protagonistas de Novela," a reality show, where sparks flew immediately between the two. The pair has two children together, Christopher and Kailey.

Their relationship has proven to be as dramatic as a novela.

Around September 2013, there were rumors that Levy was cheating on Gutiérrez. But the actress said there was no truth to it.

"It's part of the show," she said. "I'm also an actress. I know what's going on. The important thing is to have good communication between us; I think we've managed it well so far."

The media has always taken an interest in whether or not they were engaged.

In an interview with "Hoy," she said that this keeps happening because people want to see her in a wedding dress. She also shared that she had no reason to rush to get married.

"Family is the most important thing," she said. "We have a wonderful family. If it happens, it happens. Neither of us is in a hurry to get married. I think the bond we have is stronger than a piece of paper."
