Motorola's  upcoming flagship smartphone, the Moto X, is set to be revealed on Aug. 1, but that hasn't stopped the phone from making its rounds through the technosphere via a torrent of leaks and rumors, the latest of which tells us more about the phone's price and specs.

Tipsters seem to have contacted Android Community and GizmoFusion with information that the 16GB Moto X should be priced at $299. Those interested in picking up a variant with more storage should be able to shell out $349 for a 32GB model. The prices are for unlocked variants from Motorola. Carrier-tied models are expected to retail at $99 and $149 with a two-year contract for the 16GB and 32GB variants respectively. This would place the Moto X in the same pricing range as last year's Nexus 4 handset, which won over many with its affordable quality.

The Moto X will also reportedly come with a phone-tracking feature that will allow owners to hunt their handset down via an unspecified web-based service.

The Moto X should come equipped with a 4.5-inch 720p display, a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 2GB RAM, and a 2,200mAh battery. Always-on voice commands will also be standard on the Moto X. The phone will have voice-recognition technology embedded so that users can always control the handset without having to touch the actual screen. The Moto X will also do away with LED notifications, instead opting to display relevant information on the display. Buyers will also be able to customize the look and feel of the Moto X by selecting the backplate.

Motorola has not officially confirmed anything, so be sure to take any Moto X news with a grain of salt until Aug. 1. The smartphone is then expected to launch at the end of August, according to some leaked memos.

Will you be picking up the Moto X at the prices speculated above? If so, let us know why in the comments section below.
