The Road To Wrestlemania rolls into Elimination Chamber with six WWE Superstars looking to guarantee themselves a last headlining slot in the Wrestlemania XXX main event against Batista.
Elimination Chamber Kickoff match: Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs Ryback & Curtis Axel
The former WWE Tag Team Champions look to get back on the title path and face the team of Ryback and Curtis Axel in the Elimination Chamber Kick-off Show - available on YouTube.com, WWE.com, the WWE App, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo!, Google+, Samsung Smart TVs, Sony PS3, Pinterest or Pheed prior to the start of the pay-per-view (PPV). Rhodes has been competing with a knee injury since his team's Steel Cage rematch against the New Age Outlaws, which will give Ryback & Axel the opening they need to get closer to a title shot down the road.
Darren Young vs Titus O'Neil
Darren Young wants revenge after his former Prime-Time Players tag team partner turned his back on the team and attacked him after a tag team match. O' Neil, tired of carrying the team, dropped Young, competing in singles matches now, but was humiliated by his former partner on Smackdown after Young tore O'Neil's expensive clothes. O'Neil should be able to overpower Young once they face-off in the ring and prove to his former partner who the star player was on the team.
Batista vs Alberto Del Rio
Batista already has his slot at Wrestlemania XXX guaranteed, having won the Royal Rumble after returning from a long hiatus from the industry. Del Rio tried to eliminate Batista at the Royal Rumble only to get thrown over the top rope, losing his opportunity to headline Wrestlemania XXX. Del Rio swore that Batista will not make it to Wrestlemania XXX healthy but took a Batista Bomb through the announcers table instead, a couple of weeks on Raw, left a battered mess by "The Animal" and sporting a neck brace a week later. Batista is likely to continue his rampage going into Wrestlemania, at the expense of ADR, and will defeat the Mexican aristocrat as he awaits the winner of the main event title match.
The Shield (United States Champion Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns) vs The Wyatts (Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, & Erick Rowan)
The Shield blames The Wyatts for snatching away an opportunity to participate in the championship main event after The Wyatts interfered in their Elimination Chamber Qualifier Six-Man tag match several weeks ago on Monday Night Raw. The Shield has since set their sights on The Wyatts despite signs of dissensions within the crew, with Reigns and Ambrose not seeing eye-to-eye of late. As tensions continue to run high within the "Hounds of Justice" stable after Reigns eliminated his partners at the Royal Rumble and Ambrose calling himself "the baddest man in The Shield", the Wyatts should be able to take advantage of The Shield's friction and come out on top with the crazy clan picking up the win.
WWE Tag Team Championship match: The Usos vs The New Age Outlaws (champions)
The Usos earned a title shot at the six-time and current WWE Tag Team Champion the New Age Outlaws - "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn and "Road Dogg" Jesse James - after a series of wins in singles competition and eight-man tag team bout, pinning the champions on a several occassions. The embarrassed champions plan to put the upstart siblings in their place and show them why they have held the titles on so numerous occassions. While the Usos high energy will likely put the champions at a distinct disadvantage considering their age, the crafty veterans will find a way to hold on to their titles and move on to Wrestlemania as the champs.
WWE Intercontinental Championship match: Jack Swagger of the Real Americans vs Big E (champion)
Swagger earned a title shot at Big E after defeating Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, and Mark Henry in a Fatal Fourway match to determine the number one contender to the Intercontinental title. Swagger has since been on a roll, hoping to add gold to Zeb Colter's Real American stable. But despite the fact the young champion may have to beware of Colter lurking at ringside, Big E should be able to overpower the All-American to retain his title.
Elimination Chamber WWE World Heavyweight Championship match: Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Sheamus, Christian, Cesaro, and Randy Orton (champion)
Before Orton can even worry about the prospect of facing Batista at Wrestlemania XXX or watch out for Brock Lesnar, who has been promised a title match, Orton must first enter the Elimination Chamber cage and be the last man standing against Cena, Christian, Bryan, Sheamus, and Cesaro. "The Apex Predator" was forced to face all his opponents in singles non-title matches, going 1-4 during that stretch. History has also not been kind to "The Viper," having never won a Elimination Chamber match in his entire career.
But Orton may have outside forces - including The Authority - that will help him retain the champion, whether it is The Shield watching out for the champion as they did last Monday Night Raw when they attacked Sheamus or WWE Director of Operations Kane actively working to prevent his former tag team partner from achieving his championship dreams. Kane has attacked Bryan on various occasions, attempting to wear him down be Bryan, working on his shoulder, as the former champion enters the confines of the Elimination Chamber structure. If Orton can hold on to get by Cesaro, who has been on a roll since defeating Orton and going to toe-to-toe with Cena last week on Raw, and defeat the man he already beat to unify the championship titles, Orton will come out on top, win his first Elimination Chamber match, and head to Wrestlemania XXX with the title around his waist.
