Titanfall will not allow users to preload the game on their consoles.

The highly anticipated game, set for a March 11 release date for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC, originally had a listing on the Xbox One website (that has since been taken down) claiming the game could be preloaded before it was officially released, according to one NeoGAF user. The post claimed that those who pre-ordered the game as a digital download could download the game early and then begin playing it as soon as March 11.

However, this post was a mistake, and Microsoft issued a statement to explaining that users will not be able to preload the game and the listing was posted in error.

"We believe in digital distribution, and are proud to give gamers a variety of ways to purchase and experience their games. However, pre-purchase and pre-download for Titanfall for Xbox One will not be available from Xbox Store. We'll continue to strike a balance between digital distribution and its benefits, while supporting physical games purchase through our retail partners," Microsoft said in a statement, according to Polygon.

"The pre-purchase offer page was posted in error. We apologize for any confusion."

Titanfall is 15.88GB as a digital download of the game. While many games allow users to preload games before they are released, it looks as though Titanfall fans will have to wait a little bit before they get into the action.

While Titanfall has not been officially released, many are already hailing it as one of the best games of 2014 and possibly the best game to come to next-gen consoles so far. The beta for the game has proved to be very popular, and though it only offers a small glimpse into the game many have already become dedicated players of the game through the demo.

With the interesting mix of traditional online shooter mechanics mixed with massive Titan robots added for additional chaos, Titanfall is proving worthy of the hype. With no single-player content or offline modes, Titanfall may be the first in a new type of game when it is released.
