Previously only available on handheld systems, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate Deluxe Edition will finally be released on a variety of platforms on April 1.

The game will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC, and the spinoff game in the popular Arkham series will also be available as a digital-only game, IGN reported. The game was previously available on the 3DS and Vita and featured unique 2.5-D graphics that featured Batman fighting through the prison in a side scrolling adventure action game.

The console and PC version of Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will have several new features to expand the game even further. A new map will be put into the game along with a new hint system that will make navigating through the game easier for those new to the series. Objective tracking will also be added to the game as well along with 5.1 surround sound and full voice acting to narrate the events of the game. The game will also get an overhaul in graphics that will bring the game into HD.

No word on how much the game will cost when it is released on April 1, but considering the game is coming as a digital-only title gamers should expect to receive the game for less than full price. Those who cannot get enough of the critically-acclaimed Batman series should jump at the chance to buy the updated version of Arkham Origins Blackgate. The game was rated very well among reviews and gives the series a brand-new style of play that will be fresh to veterans of the series.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate was developed by Armature Studio in conjunction with Warner Bros. Interactive. While the handheld game was popular when it was first released, bringing the game to consoles is a smart move that should excite fans who were disappointed by Batman: Arkham Origins. While that game was received fairly well by critics, some fans were disappointed by the prequel due to the amount of glitches found in the game and the amount of costume DLC being put out on the season pass for the game as opposed to actual game and story content.
