The newest Battlefield 4 patch has been released for the PC version of the game as DICE continues to work on the many different technical issues the game has suffered since launch.
The full list of fixes and other aspects of the patch can be found on the Battlefield 4 website. As is typical of these sorts of patches, some users may experience some downtime and it will take several hours for the majority of servers to receive this update.
Besides the usual fixes to general stability for Battlefield 4, the patch seeks to iron out some kinks that have been reported by PC users. This includes fixing errors where spawning switching to a gunner seat in an IFV/MBT could occasionally cause the game to crash. An invisible wall found in one of the concrete pipes on the Zavod 311 map has been removed. Missing grass physics will no longer be an issue for players, and the inability to scroll through a long ID on a dog tag will also no longer be a problem.
Some fixes to select multiplayer modes will also help users get the most out of Battlefield 4. A fix for missing sound in Team and Squad Deathmatch will be put into the game. Another sound issue where the number of shots fired would not match the number of sounds made will be taken care of through this update. An issue in the Defuse game mode where a bomb carrier would be permanently spotted has also been taken care of through this patch.
DICE has managed to decrease the rate (but not eliminated) at which the kill card would incorrectly display 0 health despite the enemy being nowhere near dead. The error that found the "Draw" message not displaying on screen once a Conquest round ended with both teams having the same amount of tickets has also been fixed; the message will now arrive with the new update.
DICE has been working hard to get both the PC and console versions of Battlefield 4 running smoothly. In fact, DICE has pulled people away from other projects such as the new Star Wars Battlefront game to make sure that the game is functioning at its full potential. Hopefully the launch of the Second Assault DLC does not bring a fresh wave of problems to the game after so much time has been spent fixing the game already.
