Fortunately for "Scandal" fans, there's a lot to look forward to in the rest of Season 3 when the popular political drama series returns from its winter hiatus later this month.
For the first time, President Fitz and Mellie Grant's two children, Jerry and Karen, will make their debut in Episode 15 as TVLine confirms that Dylan Minnette and Madeline Carroll have landed the roles.
Minnette's TV credits include a recent episode of Agents of "S.H.I.E.L.D.," the role of Jason Isaac's son on "Awake," a recurring role on "Lost" and "Grey's Anatomy's" Season 4 Halloween episode. Meanwhile, Carroll has guest appearances on "Grey's Anatomy," Private Practice" and "Lost" under her belt.
According to their onscreen dad Tony Goldwyn, the First Children come across as "complicated, substantial and interesting people" in their own right, while their arrival from boarding school "really escalates" things for the Grant household.
Jerry is a 15-year-old teen described as "quiet, smart and intense," while his younger sister Karen comes across as "polished, self-assured and older than her years," reports TVLine.
After killing her husband, viewers can also expect to see more of Sally Langston in Season 3 as she plans to double down on her efforts to maintain a sense of power in the White House by working closely with Leo and planning her next career steps, reports TV Guide.
And lastly, in the Feb. 27 episode, titled "Ride Sally Ride," Cyrus will be in full damage-control mode, both at home and work. "He has rocked his marriage to the core and he also screwed up every chance he has of keeping Sally on the ticket," explains actor Jeff Perry. "Cyrus is more scared of what he's done than we've ever seen him, and he's scrambling like hell to get out of it." Furthermore, Perry revealed to TVLine that he's been spending "a bit of time" working with Columbus Short of late.
"Scandal" will return with S3E11 on Thursday, Feb. 27 on ABC.
