A new game mode has been announced for League of Legends that will add another character to the mix and force players to figure out the best way to adopt to this added champion.

Riot Games announced that Hexakill will begin on Feb. 20, and much of the normal rules for League of Legends will apply. Players will fight it out at the Summoner's Rift map, and the regular rules for matches will be in effect. However, instead of the normal five member teams for League of Legends, Hexakill will have six, meaning a whole new level of strategy will be included in this game mode. Experienced players can experiment with the new team members and find killer new combinations of abilities to win the new game mode.

This new featured game mode will offer yet another new twist to the extremely popular free-to-play MOBA game. Other special game modes offered in League of Legends include one vs. one or two vs. two duels, Showdown, and One for All.

League of Legends, much like Blizzard's DOTA 2, started the wave of MOBA games that has taken over the PC gaming world. Following a simple formula of characters following different paths toward an enemy base, users can fight it out and use hundreds of different characters and abilities to gain the edge over their foes. Currently, League of Legends enjoys 27 million daily users across the globe, and the game has quickly become the favorite of professional gamers. International tournaments for the features winners earning over six figures in one fell swoop.

With the launch of Hexakill, Riot Games shows its steady commitment to the company's marquee franchise despite the game being first launched in 2009. The developer has frequently given the game updates such as the Hexakill update to keep players returning to the game. Riot Games is also committed to making sure that the balance of the game is always on the level, and patches such as the recent Patch 4.2 constantly seek to make League of Legends the best it can be.

When Hexakill launches on Feb. 20, League of Legends veterans and newbies alike will be able to experience battles that are bigger than ever before and see just how much having a sixth character to control will add to the game.
