On the latest episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles," the L.A. team investigated a former Afghanistan contractor while Kensi continued her own investigation in Afghanistan.
In "War Cries," the episode begins with Sam (LL Cool J) and Callen (Chris O'Donnell) saving prostitutes from their pimp, while Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) helps a prostitute keep her job by telling her boss she helped take down a counterfeiting ring.
Shortly after, it's revealed that two former D7 agents were found dead, leading the team to former D7 contractor Robert Brown (Dylan Bruno). Unlike his coworkers, he is not working for the new D7, Durendell Securities, but for some reason, people want him dead.
When the team brings him in, Brown says some bad events occurred in Afghanistan and he wanted protection, but he didn't think D7 could protect him given its relationship with the Defense Department and the Pentagon.
Deeks and Granger (Miguel Ferrer) intercept a Durendell employee who is breaking into Brown's house, and Granger threatens him at gunpoint to give them answers. It turns out Brown killed three women in Afghanistan, and Nell (Renee Felice Smith) was left to watch him.
Meanwhile, Nell stabs Brown several times as he has his arm around her throat and a gun to her head. Sam and Callen arrive in the nick of time, saving Nell and nabbing Brown.
In Afghanistan, Kensi (Daniela Ruah) suspects Sabatino, questioning what happened when he and a sniper were out there, as well as who the three men were who were dressed in civilian clothes. She is also wondering why Sabatino was pulled from the Sidorov case.
Back in Los Angeles, Sam sets Callen up on a blind date, which goes well.
In the next episode, "Tuhon," "Callen and Sam's new murder suspect is a retired assassin they came across on their first case together. As the two head to Mexico to find him, Deeks and Nate help out the investigation in Los Angeles."
"Tuhon" airs Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
