A new preview of the PlayStation 4 exclusive Infamous: Second Son reveals that the game will blend open world gameplay, epic action, and emotional storytelling in ways that have previously been thought of as impossible.

The game seeks to mix all these elements together, using the power of the PlayStation 4 to deliver an exciting experience. Developer Sucker Punch has confirmed that the game will allow players to experience the peaks of action and storytelling simultaneously, IGN reported.

One mission will have players chase down Abigail "Fetch" Walker, a vigilante that has similar powers to the player who kills drug dealers. Players use the protagonist Delsin to chase her down through the virtual copy of Seattle, and once players catch the character Delsin will have to debate with his brother Reggie about what to do with her. Players will be able to experience the heated exchange just after the frantic chase, mixing the two sections together to create some truly distinctive gameplay.

Players will be able to choose two different options at this point concerning what to do with Abigail, with voice actor Troy Baker making either choice believable to the user. Once players make a choice, the game will play out in different ways. Most choices in the game break down into good and evil options, with each branch unlocking different missions. By choosing the evil path, Delsin will have more missions that will terrify civilians or cause destruction. The good path will feature missions that try to help people in need and will require players to avoid killing others.

The gameplay will allow users to implement Delsin's powers in a variety of ways. The character's movements will vary greatly depending on the character's speed and direction. Users can run around the game like a normal person, but activating their neon powers will let players run up walls, slow down time, and highlight weaknesses in enemies. Delsin's smoke powers are more powerful than the neon powers, but the ability to move quicker and attack weak points offsets this. Despite the effects-heavy powers that Sucker Punch put into the game, Infamous: Second Son does not suffer from slowdown. Users can unleash massive attacks and destroy buildings without worrying about the PlayStation 4's ability to handle the strain.
