It's official. We finally have a good idea of when Ubisoft's Watch Dogs will be released.

During a recent investors call, Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, confirmed that PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC owners should expect Watch Dogs to be released between April and June 2014, Gamespot reported.

The Wii U version will have an unconfirmed released date after June, with no indication of how long the gap will be between that version and the others.

This is certainly welcome news. Ubisoft was originally supposed to release the game in November 2013 to coincide with the launch of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. However, shortly before the game was set to launch, Ubisoft announced that Watch Dogs, along with The Crew, had been delayed into 2014 due to quality concerns. Now, it looks as though those who pre-ordered the game and have been waiting patiently will be able to enjoy the open-world crime game roughly six months later than anticipated.

Previously, rumors circulated that the Wii U version of Watch Dogs had been cancelled after international online retailers began pulling the game from listings. However, the rumors were debunked as nothing more than a computer error; the company never deviated from its plans to release the game on the Nintendo console. Despite this, it looks as though the Wii U version of Watch Dogs is experiencing further difficulties, possibly stemming from the system's difference in specs compared to other systems and the Wii U Gamepad changing how the mechanics of the game work.

Watch Dogs is set in a futuristic version of Chicago, where most everyone and everything is connected together thanks to the Internet. As the protagonist Aiden, users can hack into many different aspects of the city to take down foes. Players can steal information off a cell phone, or hack into the city's network to spy on targets. To escape foes, players can change traffic signals to cause accidents or shut off the power in a city block to sneak away from enemies. With so many different components and strategies to explore, Watch Dogs is one of the top games to look out for in 2014.
