On the latest installment of "Hart of Dixie," Joel tries to be a bad boy and George and Tansy give their romance another shot.
In "Should've Been a Cowboy," Zoe (Rachel Bilson) and Joel (Josh Cooke) move into their new house, but the contractor tells them it needs expensive upkeep, which is difficult on their limited budget.
Joel then begins questioning his new novel, which focuses on a protagonist that is clearly a mix of his and Wade's (Wilson Bethel) characteristics.
Joel says he can improve his novel by learning how to a tough, cowboy type, so he follows Wade around to learn how to be a "bad boy." Although Wade tries to teach him how to use tools and be tough guy, it's clearly outside of Joel's comfort zone.
Zoe decides that in order to prevent Joel from trying to fix the house himself, she can get the money to hire professional handymen by convincing Brick (Tim Matheson) to promote her. Brick and Zoe come to an agreement that she can be a partner again if she succeeds in helping the town lose weight during Health and Wellness Week. Yet, Brick knows that the Belle's Cake Fest had been rescheduled for the following day.
Meanwhile, Joel decides to take over for Wade as barkeep for awhile, but gets himself into some trouble. Some rowdy drunks decide to have a "duel" the next day with Joel.
Annabeth (Kaitlyn Black) is drafted to be a bridesmaid for Elodie, a Belle who made fun of the fact that Annabeth is not engaged. Instead of getting upset, Annabeth decides to channel her energy into creating a bacheloette party for Elodie. But the more she tries to put it together, the more stressed she becomes.
Regardless, the bachelorette party is a success, despite the comically terrible male strippers.
Annabeth continues to worry about her future with Lavon (Cress Williams), which only gets worse when Lavon can not yet say whether she is the love of his life.
Later, Joel loses a hilarious fight with "Little Zach," and George (Scott Porter) and Lavon decide to be friends again. Not long after, George rekindles his relationship with Tansy (Mircea Monroe).
On the next episode, "Act Naturally," "Zoe reluctantly agrees to allow Joel to throw her a birthday party at Lavon's to help cheer him up, but things go awry when her mom (guest star JoBeth Williams) surprises her with a visit. Vivian (guest star Lauren Bittner) wants to meet Wade's dad, but Wade is leery of how she might react. AnnaBeth gets an interesting request from the Belles that she was not expecting but, in light of recent developments might be the perfect distraction for her. Meanwhile, George is determined to prove to Tansy that his nemesis Scooter McGreevy (guest star Matt Oberg) has not changed and is fooling everyone."
Also, "Zade" fans should not despair for much longer; TVLine hints that Joel will not be around for the entire season.
Watch the promo for "Act Naturally" below, which airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
