The Seattle Seahawks won this year's Super Bowl when they scored a dominating 43-8 victory over the Denver Broncos on Sunday at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Already, the Seahawks are being tabbed as the favorites to win it all again next year, but USA Today noted on Monday that the road will not be as smooth as it looks, as the team is facing tough decisions in the offseason.

The Seahawks are expected to make a significant shakeup in their receiving options and defensive line in hopes of keeping the talent level in check, while also making sure that their young core is secured for the long haul.

Sources indicated that the Seahawks will look to secure longterm deals with safety Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman, who are expected to command bigger deals after their impressive seasons this year.

Sports Illustrated reported that signing Thomas is the main priority of the Seahawks at this point. The 24-year-old safety still has one year left on his contract, but the Seahawks will look to lock him up for several years rather than running the risk of losing him via free agency in 2015.

Thomas, who was the 14th pick during the 2010 NFL Draft, is coming off the best season of his four-year career, recording a career-high 105 tackles, including five interceptions last season. The former Texas standout earned seven votes in the balloting for the 2013 Defensive Player of the Year award.

Sherman, 25, will not become a free agent until 2015 like Thomas, and is also expected to receive a longterm extension from the Seahawks in the offseason.

The former Stanford standout, who recently made headlines with his now-famous post-game rant after their NFC Championship victory over the San Francisco 49ers, had a league-best eight interceptions in 2013—the same number of interceptions he recorded in 2012.

Aside from Thomas and Sherman, the Seahawks will have to make a decision on whether to retain wide receivers Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin, who will become unrestricted and restricted free agents, respectively.

Both players played key roles for the Seahawks this year, and sources said that both players are expected to draw the interest of other teams in the offseason, along with other soon-to-be-free-agents Seahawks players like Michael Bennett, Tony McDaniel, Walter Thurmond, Breno Giacomini, and Steven Hauschka.
