The Cleveland Cavaliers were hoping to make an impact in this year's NBA playoffs after making major moves during the last offseason, but they have met nothing but disappointment this season.

And if the Cavaliers fail to turn things around quickly, Cleveland could be a major player in the upcoming NBA trade deadline, the Akron Beacon-Journal reported on Monday.

According to the report, the Cavaliers might be willing to trade Dion Waiters before the trade deadline. Sources said that the sophomore guard has been a disappointment inside the Cavaliers locker room, supporting previous reports about the growing friction between Waiters and Kyrie Irving.

"Two sources close to the team confirmed that barring a significant turnaround before the trade deadline, this roster will likely face some upheaval. That very well could include Waiters, whose act has worn thin on his teammates and various members of the organization," the Beacon-Journal reported.

Basketball Insiders also reported that there is still serious locker room conflict in Cleveland, and their executives are not happy about it.

Sources said that Cavaliers are receiving a lot of inquiries about the availability of Tristan Thompson, but the team is leaning towards moving Waiters if they decide to make a major move in the coming weeks.

"It's been a pretty poorly kept secret that there is some serious locker room friction over there in Cleveland. I think they have a bunch of movable, valuable assets, though. Tristan Thompson is coveted by many, from what I hear, but if we're talking about the guy most likely to be moved, I think we'd be looking at Dion Waiters," Basketball Insiders noted.

Moving Waiters could also be Cleveland's way of sending a message to Irving, who could become a free agent in the summer of 2015. Previous reports suggested that the All-Star point guard will consider leaving Cleveland, but the Cavaliers are expected to make moves to convince him to stay for the next few years.

Aside from Waiters, Basketball Insiders also noted that the Cavaliers will also consider moving Jarrett Jack and Earl Clark if given the right offer.

Anthony Bennett, the 2013 No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick, is also expected to draw interest despite being labeled as a "bust" this early in his career after failing to reach expectations during the first half of the season.

The 20-year-old small forward is only averaging 2.8 points and 2.5 rebounds per game this season, but sources said that several teams are still highly interested in the potential of the former UNLV standout.
