Juan Manuel Marquez turned down numerous offers to face Manny Pacquiao for the fifth time, but the Mexican boxing icon could find himself trading blows with his Filipino nemesis later this year.

Top Rank promotions CEO Bob Arum told BoxingScene that Pacquiao-Marquez 5 could be staged in the fall later this year. Arum said that Marquez wants to win a fifth title before ending his career, and he'll have no choice but to face the winner of the upcoming rematch between Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley on April 12 in Las Vegas.

"Marquez really only wants one thing, he wants to win that title. He has indicated to us, that he was be very amenable to fighting the winner of Pacquiao and Bradley in the fall," Arum revealed.

The 40-year-old Mexican, who has been aching to have a rematch with Bradley after absorbing a split decision loss in October, has been cold to the idea of facing Pacquiao again.

Marquez previously insisted that the Pacquiao chapter of his career is already over after his convincing win in their previous fight.

The four-division champion knocked Pacquiao out cold during the sixth round of their fourth showdown in December 2012, but Arum revealed that Marquez had a change of heart, and is now willing to face Pacquiao if he wins convincingly against Bradley in their upcoming rematch.

"There is a statement on the internet already that he's made. he's obviously changed his tune on fighting Pacquiao again. He doesn't want to fight Pacquiao again if Pacquiao is not successful with Bradley, but if Pacquiao is successful with Bradley, he has stated that he would fight Pacquiao," Marquez said.

And while waiting for his rematch with Pacquiao or Bradley, Marquez said that he is open to the possibility of having a tune-up fight in May, most probably in Mexico City.

"I have to see what's on the table, what they offer me. I have to analyze what suits me and what doesn't and then I will make a decision. I need to sit down with the promoter and see what's coming, and if it's very good then I would be returning in May," Marquez said.
