Houston Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin felt blessed to finally record his first career triple-double after a humbling journey that saw him as an undrafted rookie, D-League player, superstar in New York City and now an integral player in Houston.

The 26-year-old Lin could not believe that he has at last accomplished one of the rarest gems as a professional basketball player—pulling off an elusive triple double.

"It's kind of humbling to think about the whole journey and now this. It's another cool thing," said Lin, who recorded 15 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in 29 minutes of action off the bench in the Rockets' 106-92 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers Saturday.

Rockets superstar James Harden, who has also delivered several triple-double games before, believes Lin's feat was special because it's very unusual for a bench player to tally at least 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists with limited playing time.

"That's hard to do," Harden said of collecting a triple-double as a bench player, The National reported. "It's just hard to be able to score the basketball, grab rebounds and pass the ball and get your teammates involved off the bench as a point guard. It's tough. But he's talented enough to do it and he did it."

Cavaliers head coach Mike Brown also lauded the performance of Lin and his backcourt mate Patrick Beverley, who both showed heart in fighting for every rebound and loose ball opportunity.

"You have to give credit to their two guards," Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said. "Patrick Beverley and Jeremy Lin played a heck of a game between those guys. Twenty-one rebounds is phenomenal. They just got after it and went after every loose ball and rebounded."

Soaring Trade Value

With the midseason trade deadline drawing near, the Rockets have to make a crucial decision on Lin's future with the ball club. For the past several months, Lin has been thrown into multiple trade scenarios, but none of those trade rumors and proposals have materialized.

However, many NBA insiders believe Lin could still be moved before the trade deadline, especially if he continues to jack up his trade value. For the past three games, Lin has been putting up at least 17 points and 8 assists per game—a sign that his confidence is building up once again after missing two weeks with an injury.

The Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers and Charlotte Bobcats are possible destinations for Lin, who could need a fresh environment to reach his full potential.
