Following an eventful week that featured a controversial Royal Rumble win by Batista, and the highly-publicized walkout by CM Punk, the stage is set for a critical WWE Raw episode Monday.
It was a swerve that came from left field and left Darren Young feeling bloody and empty after his former Prime Time Players tag team partner, Titus O'Neil, finally got tired of carrying the tag team, and made his feelings known after the Prime Time Players lost last week to Ryback and Curtis Axel on Friday Night Smackdown. O'Neil refused to break the pin-fall count after Axel nailed Young with his finisher and then stomped his fallen ex-tag team partner down after match, telling him he is tired of being asociate with a loser. Will Young seek revenge on his "brother" for turning his back on him?
"Payback" may also be on the agenda for Alberto Del Rio, still seething he was eliminated from the Royal Rumble by Batista - who went on to win the 30-Man Over-the-Rope Battle Royal that earned him a title shot against the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania XXX. Del Rio has sworn that Batista will not make it to Wrestlemania and made an example of Kofi Kingston last week. Will Batista knock off a potential obstacle on his Road to Wrestlemania or will Del Rio take out Batista with his Cross Armbreaker as he has done to many past foes?
Cody Rhodes and Goldust are fired up and also want some vengeance, a common theme this upcoming edition of Monday Night Raw, after their rematch against the new WWE Tag Team Champions, The New Age Outlaws - who defeated the sibling tag team for their titles at the Royal Rumble did not go as planned last week. Rhodes and Goldust were set for their mandatory rematch until Brock Lesnar interfered in their match, taking out his anger for the delays in receiving the title shot that he was promised against the WWE World Heavyweight champion Randy Orton by destroying the former tag team titleholders. A Steel Cage match has been set for this week, with Rhodes and Goldust hoping the brutal structure can keep away any outside distractions from getting in their way as they look to defeat the six-time WWE Tag Team champions, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn and "Road Dogg" Jesse James, and take their titles back.
The Shield also has a bone to pick this Monday, with The Wyatts, who "The Hounds of Justice" blame for costing them spots in the Elimination Chamber WWE World Heavyweight title main event match. The Shield has sworn to get back at the Wyatts, despite some differences within the group after Roman Reigns' record-breaking performance at the Royal Rumble, who got involved in last week's Raw main event, with the crazy clan attempting to get their hands on John Cena. The sneak-attack forced the official to disqualify The Shield, allowing Cena, Daniel Bryan, and Sheamus to earn spots in the Elimination Chamber title match at the Shield's expense. WWE COO Triple H announced on Friday Night Smackdown that the Wyatts would face the Shield at the upcoming Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, but both groups are notorious for ambushing opponents when they least expect it. Will The Shield turn the tables on their rivals or will the Wyatts continue being a thorn on The Shield's side?
Meanwhile, due to the Wyatts interference in the match against The Shield, Daniel Bryan once again finds himself in the title picture, but will have to go up against Randy Orton, John Cena, Sheamus, Antonio Cesaro, and Christian at the Elimination Chamber main event title match if he expects to win the title, much to the chagrin of Triple H and the Authority. Will The Authority find a way to prevent Bryan from winning the title that eluded him throughout 2013 since SummerSlam or will the Bryan prevail over the machine holding him down?
