Every year advertisers dish out millions of dollars for a commercial slot during the Super Bowl, one of the biggest sporting events in the world, and this year is no different.

According to Forbes, companies will pay about $4 million for each 30-second commercial in the 2014 game, which is the reason why the Super Bowl has become the most expensive advertising event across the globe.

According to Kelly O'Keefe, a professor of brand strategy at the Virginia Commonwealth University Brand Center Overall, marketers are doing a better job relaying their brand message while still making their ads entertaining.

"This year there's much more focus on brand personality: the spot has to be both interesting and funny and link back to the core assets of the brand," he said, reports USA Today. "I'm predicting a stronger Super Bowl than last year."

Here's a preview of what you can expect to see during the big game, which kicks off Sunday, Feb. 2 at 6:30 pm EST.

Budweiser's Super Bowl XLVIII commercial is sure to touch your heart. The ad, which will be featured in the fourth quarter, shows the how an adorable Golden Labrador becomes enamored with one of the beermaker's iconic Clydesdales while Passenger’s "Let Her Go" plays in the background.

Last June Cheerios aired a commercial featuring an interracial American family. However, the advertisement quickly became the center of controversy after a number of people left racist comments online, forcing the cereal maker to disable its YouTube comments section.

During the Super Bowl, Cheerios will air another commercial featuring the multiracial family during the game’s first unscheduled time-out.

H&M’s innovative super bowl ad will allow some Samsung Smart TV owners to order David Beckham's Bodywear products with their remote control in real time air. The ad will run in the second quarter.

Ellen DeGeneres stars in the Beats Music slot, featuring a new spin on the classic Goldilocks and The Three Bears fairytale.

The new ad from the Kia Motors Corporation starring Morpheus from “The Matrix” has already become a hit online. In the ad, a couple runs into Morpheus at a valet stand. He then presents them with two different sets of keys and tells them that they should choose wisely, because they'll never look at luxury the same again.
