The team was held hostage on the latest episode of "Beauty and the Beast."

The episode begins with a reminder that Cat (Kristin Kreuk) and Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy) kissed, which "VinCat" fans are not too thrilled about.

Cat then prepares a surprise birthday party for Tess (Nina Lisandrello), and as she's doing that, she sees gossip in a local paper about Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Tori (Amber Skye Noyes). She can't believe that Tori is going around town wearing the coveted stolen necklace. Cat believes the precious gem belongs to her, considering it is connected to her family.

Cat then arrests Tori for possession of the stolen necklace, yet simultaneously covers up Tori and Vincent's story. Dana (Elisabeth Rohm) is angry and confused about the cover up, and also wants to get her hands on the necklace.

At the police precinct, Tori brags to Cat and the FBI that her boyfriend (meaning Vincent) gave her the necklace as a gift. Cat tells her that Vincent has only been parading her around like bait, and is not her boyfriend.

Then a group of hired henchmen come to the precinct and hold everyone hostage in exchange for the necklace. While doing so, they shoot an amiable security guard to show they mean business. They then wait around for a helicopter to arrive and take the necklace.

Vincent shows up at the precinct to look at NYPD blueprints to find a way to find the necklace. He doesn't have any interest in helping the hostages at first, but shows some interest when he is informed by Gabe that Cat is among the hostages.

Vincent then decides to rescue the besieged precinct.

But when Vincent gets there, the necklace diminishes Vincent's beast powers, and he cannot hear Cat's "beast prayers." So Cat convinces Vincent to throw away the necklace just in time to rescue the hostages.

After everyone is rescued, Vincent tries to recover the necklace. When he can't find it, he decides to work with Cat to track it down.

At the end of the episode, a person finds the necklace and hands it to a mystery person in a limousine.

On the next episode, "Recipe for Disaster," "J.T. gets kidnapped, forcing Cat and Vincent to work together to save him."

In future episodes, Vincent will also reconnect with an old friend.

Christopher Heyerdahl will guest star in Episode 14 as Dr. Nicholas Markus, Vincent's medical mentor and a physician with tenure at Vincent's former place of employment. Vincent runs into Markus at St. Benjamin's while trying to save someone, which will pose a dilemma for the doctor, as it could potentially end his career.

Heyerdahl has appeared on "True Blood," "Supernatural" and "Hell on Wheels."

Check out the promo below for "Recipe for Disaster," which airs Monday, Feb. 3 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
