Tiger Woods is focused on his ongoing campaign at the Dubai Desert Classic, but that doesn't mean that the golf superstar is not setting his sights on the highly-anticipated Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday.
Woods, who is playing in his second tournament this year in Dubai, believes that the Denver Broncos will beat the Seattle Seahawks in their upcoming Super Bowl Sunday showdown Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The world's number one golfer, who is a self-confessed Oakland Raiders fan, said that he will root for the Broncos mainly because of his close relationship to Denver quarterback Peyton Manning.
"I like the Broncos. I'm good friends with Peyton Manning," Woods said in an interview via Golf Channel.
The golf superstar expressed confidence that Manning will carry the Broncos to silence his critics like he has done all season long.
Woods pointed out that his good friend Manning was previously scrutinized for leaving the Indianapolis Colts. Manning was also labeled as a "has-been" player after undergoing neck surgeries, but the 37-year-old quarterback has continuously proved his doubters wrong.
"Let's be honest, he got scrutinized pretty hard when he left [the Colts] that he would never be the same after his neck surgery, and it's right, he's not the same; he's better. That's cool to see. That's cool to see the hard work that he put in to shut everybody up," said Woods, who is no stranger to scrutiny on and off the course.
Woods' prediction came days after rapper Lil' Wayne also said that he is expecting a Broncos victory on Sunday.
Wayne, who is a Green Bay Packers fan, said that he was surprised with the performances of the Seahawks and Russell Wilson in the 2014 NFL Playoffs, but he can't see them beating Manning and the Broncos outside of their home turf in Seattle.
"Honestly, I don't want to use the word 'surprised,' but it is unexpected to see Seattle in the Super Bowl. I expected Peyton. He's been there before. And I love Russell Wilson. But they are not playing in Seattle. I just can't see Peyton losing," Lil' Wayne stressed.
