The PlayStation Plus free games offered to subscribers in February have been revealed, and six different games will be made available for free across the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and handheld Vita. The roster of free game offered by Sony is very solid and will give players a chance to play some cult classic games that gamers may have missed in 2013.
According to IGN, the lone PlayStation 4 game being offered to users is Outlast, a horror game being developed by Red Barrels. This game will be released in February at some point, and as one of the few PlayStation 4 games coming to the console during the month it will be a must-download for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
The PlayStation 3 will have several worthy titles to check out and download in February. The highlight of the console's PlayStation Plus offerings is Metro: Last Light. Developed by 4A Studios, Metro: Last Light is a solid shooter game with an interesting story and tight controls, and those looking for a more straightforward shooter after playing Bioshock Infinite (which was offered for free in January on PlayStation Plus) should give the game a try.
PayDay 2 is also coming to PlayStation Plus owners. This heist game tasks players with planning and executing a robbery in randomly generated levels, which makes it perfect for some multiplayer mayhem.
Finally, the somewhat poorly received Remember Me is also being offered for free through PlayStation Plus for those curious to try one of the few games to feature a female protagonist in an action hero role.
Vita fans will be able to try out two free games for the handheld, both of which are excellent additions to any player's library. The first game offered is Street Fighter X Tekken, the crossover fighting game that features characters from both of the legendary fighting franchises. The second game is ModNation Racers: Road Trip, a handheld version of the game that allowed users to customize their own race tracks, karts, and characters and share them amongst the entire fanbase of the series.
