Manny Pacquiao will finally get a chance to avenge his controversial defeat of Timothy Bradley as the two fighters get ready to square off again on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
But in order to redeem himself in their upcoming rematch, respected boxing analyst Larry Merchant said that Pacquiao should not be content in just outboxing his opponent like he did during his previous fight against Brandon Rios.
The former HBO analyst insisted that Pacquiao must go all out to take down the undefeated Bradley in order to prove that he is indeed the better fighter. Merchant also recently said that Pacquiao should prove that he is still one of the top fighters in the world if he wants a shot against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The veteran boxing expert said that Pacquiao will be facing a different animal in April compared to the fighter he clearly dominated in their first showdown, although the scorecards indicated otherwise.
Since scoring the unpopular split-decision win in their welterweight title showdown in June 2012, Bradley put up a couple of impressive wins last year—one against Ruslan Provodnikov in March and the other against Pacquiao's tormentor, Juan Manuel Marquez, in a close match in October.
"He [Bradley] came back and fought the kind of fight we didn't know he had in him against Provodnikov. And then he comes back and he beats Marquez. Those are important statements," Merchant stressed in a BoxingScene interview. "I question whether Pacquiao can just outbox Bradley. I think he's going to have to outfight him."
Bradley will put his perfect 31-0 record and his WBO welterweight title on the line against Pacquiao.
When asked about his thoughts on his upcoming showdown with the former pound-for-pound king, Bradley echoed Merchant's statements, saying that he is a completely different fighter compared to who he was during their controversial showdown.
Bradley is aching to prove that he can beat Pacquiao convincingly, and the 30-year-old boxing champion warned that he is more than ready to hand Pacquiao another stinging defeat when they lock horns again in Las Vegas.
"This fight is to get the credit I didn't get the first time. In this fight, I have to beat him as convincingly as I beat Marquez," Bradley told The Desert Sun. "Now I'm not the little dog on the block. I'm a top dog. I'm a lot more mature as a fighter, as a man."
