Scarlett Johansson's sexy advertisement was removed from the roster of commercials to be aired during Sundays' Super Bowl showdown between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks.

Johansson, the new face of SodaStream, appeared in a 30-second advertisement that was supposed to debut on the biggest football game of the year at Super Bowl XLVIII.

However, FOX decided to scrap the commercial, but not because of its sexual innuendo or mature content. Rather, it has been banned for its propaganda against major sponsors Coca-Cola and Pepsi.

According to USA Today, SodaStream Chief Executive Officer Daniel Birnbaum was upset about FOX's decision to remove them from the list of Super Bowl commercials, adding that he's disappointed as an American.

"Daniel Birnbaum, CEO of SodaStream, bitterly complained to USA TODAY late Friday that Fox rejected the Super Bowl commercial 'because they're afraid of Coke and Pepsi,'" reported USA Today.

"That's the line that Fox has demanded that SodaStream kill," says Birnbaum.

"What are they afraid of?" asks Birnbaum. "Which advertiser in America doesn't mention a competitor? This is the kind of stuff that happens in China. I'm disappointed as an American," the executive added.

Movie Pilot reporter Sarah Gibson also asserted it was the threat of Coca Cola and Pepsi to pull out of their deals with FOX that was the primary reason behind the TV station's decision to yank the ad.

"With Coke and Pepsi being major Super Bowl advertisers, Fox actually banned the advert from TV so as not to risk upsetting them, rather than for Scarlett's sultry skills," Gibson wrote on Movieplot.

Scarlett's SodaStream Advocacy

Despite the recent setback, Johansson's SodaStream commercial already garnered more than 1 million views on Youtube and the ad is expected to go viral.

Apparently, Johansson has been a fan of the beverage even before she was tapped to become the endorser of the brand.

"I have been pushing SodaStream to my family for years," the actress told People. "I buy it for my friends as housewarming gifts and I have it everywhere I go. I have it everywhere just because I love it so much."
