On Tuesday, the NFL announced that Grammy award winning opera singer Renee Fleming will perform the national anthem for the 2014 Super Bowl. Plus, Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform at this year's halftime show.
In preparation for the big game, which takes place Sunday, Feb. 2, it's only right to take a look back at the top five best Super Bowl National Anthem performances throughout the years.
5.) Starting with number 5 is "American Idol" winner Kelly Clarkson who delivered an amazing rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner featuring a children's choir in 2012.
4.) Jennifer Hudson, another "American Idol" alum, also brought audiences to their feet when she stole the show at the 2009 Super Bowl with this memorable performance just a few months after the tragic death or her mother, brother and nephew in 2008.
3.) While half the nation tuned in to watch Beyoncé's show stopping half-time performance at the 2013 Super Bowl, the superstar singer also brought players to tears at Super Bowl XXXVII. Queen Bey displayed grace and poise while belting out the anthem.
2.) The Dixie Chicks created perfect harmony at the Super Bowl XXXVII back in 2003, the same year they sparked controversy for criticizing President Bush during a London performance.
1.) Coming in at number 1, is the late and great singer Whitney Houston who set a new standard when she delivered a flawless rendition of the National Anthem at Super Bowl XXV back in 1991.
