Last week, David Walton, the star of NBC's new sitcom "About a Boy," made a crossover appearance on the "Parenthood" in character as Will Freeman. Now, to return the favor, fans can look forward to seeing "Parenthood" actor Dax Shepard's character Crosby Braverman's appear on the new series.

In the "Parenthood" crossover episode, Will showed up at The Luncheonette for a game of poker. Likewise, that's the same way Crosby will make his appearance on the new comedy series.

If you're wondering what's behind these crossovers, well, the answers easy: Jason Katims, the man who executively produces both shows.

"Because both shows are set in San Francisco and the Bay Area, it made sense that there would be [crossovers]," Katims said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"I've never done anything like that before," Katims said, adding, "It seemed like a natural thing to do."

Katims also noted that Crobsy's cameo on "About a Boy" will be just as discreet as Will's cameo on "Parenthood" last week.

"The one that aired on 'Parenthood' was so subtle because people don't know [About a Boy] yet, but I kinda liked that - not say anything about it and putting it out there," Katims said, reports Entertainment Weeklly. "When Dax comes on to 'About a Boy' it will be very different. It's going to be a cameo. It won't be what the episode is going to be about. We're doing it in ways that feel real and organic to the shows."

If things go well, then expect to see other characters shifting back and forth from time to time, said Katims, who told The Wrap that it's "one-and-one" for now, but, "We'll see how that goes and then go from there."

"About a Boy," a 30 mintue comedy based on the book by Nick Hornby, premieres Friday, Feb. 22 . The crossover episode, which Katims predicted would be the only one to take place this season, does not have an airdate yet.

"Parenthood" airs on Thursdays on NBC at 10 p.m. EST.
