Novak Djokovic will look to sustain his momentum when he collides with eighth-seeded Stanislas Wawrinka in the Australian Open 2014 Quarterfinals on Tuesday, 3 a.m. EST, at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.

Djokovic moved one step closer to winning his fourth consecutive Australian Open title on Sunday when he scored a straight-set 6-3, 6-0, 6-2 win over the 15th seed Fabio Fognini.

The second-seeded Serbian, who will be making his 19th consecutive appearance in a quarterfinal of a Grand Slam event, has yet to drop a set in this year's tournament. He also extended his winning streak to 28 matches since losing to Rafael Nadal in last year's U.S. Open finals.

But while the former world's No. 1 tennis player looks poised to reach the critical stage of the tournament, things are expected to get a bit more challenging, particularly in his upcoming showdown with Wawrinka.

Djokovic has dominated Wawrinka in their head-to-head series, but two of their previous showdowns last year could give tennis fans signs of exciting things to come in their upcoming showdown.

In the fourth round of last year's Aussie Open, Wawrinka pushed the defending champion to the limit before taking a 12-10 loss in the fifth set of their match, which lasted for five hours and two minutes.

The two tennis aces had another five-set thriller in the 2013 U.S. Open semifinals in which Djokovic escaped with a come-from-behind 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in their four-hour, nine-minute match at the Flushing Meadows.

"I have to be ready to play another 12-10 in the fifth like last year," Djokovic said in an interview via ESPN. "I know that he's playing the tennis of his life in last 15 months. He is confident. You could feel that mentally when he comes to the court, he believes in himself more. You cannot expect a clear favorite in that match."

The winner of the Djokovic-Wawrinka showdown will face either third-seeded David Ferrer or seventh-seeded Tomas Berdych, who will face each other in the third match of the morning session.

The first two matches for Tuesday's morning sessions will feature fourth-seeded Li Na, who will be pitted against 28th-seeded Flavia Pennetta at 7 a.m EST -- a match that will be followed by the quarterfinals encounter between Ana Ivanovic and Eugenie Bouchard.

The full list of scheduled matches is available at the official Australian Open 2014 website.
