The two-hour season finale of "Sleepy Hollow" is quickly approaching, and it promises to be epic.

The Season 1 finale of the series, which will take place Monday, Jan. 20, will air the show's last two episodes back to back. The episodes, titled "The Indispensable Man" and "Bad Blood," will follow Abbie and Ichabod as they try to reach Katrina in purgatory.

According to "Sleepy Hollow" star Nicole Beharie, the finale will be "clandestine... gory... surprising.... and passionate," reports TVLine.

An offiical synopsis of the finale posted on Hypable reads:

"Ichabod and Abbie discover a dark secret buried within the pages of George Washington's Bible and unearth the shocking true nature of the founding father's death. Meanwhile, Capt. Irving makes a near-impossible decision for the sake of his beloved family that drastically changes his future. Then, the battle between good and evil comes to an explosive head. Sacrifices must be made, worlds collide, loyalties are tested and the town of SLEEPY HOLLOW will never be the same in the all-new special two-hour."

When asked why Abbie and Ichabod automatically assumed that George Washington had written in his Bible after his death, Ichabod actor Tom Mison told TVLine that, "This is Sleepy Hollow, and it's in hidden ink, in Washington's Bible that was buried with Ichabod. My spoiler is: Yes, something weird is going on."

Nicole Beharie also told TVLine that that many characters will "find themselves intimately involved, somehow, in the season finale," she said. "They're interconnected in a very complex way - and that includes George Washington. That reveal that he wrote this letter to Ichabod after he died? The finale is the culmination of them trying to figure out where he was and what it all means."
