It's a reunion for onscreen husband and wife Eva Longoria and Ricardo Chavira as the latter will be a guest star in the 40-year-old star's new show, "Telenovela." The two played the roles of a married couple for the American television series, "Desperate Housewives."
According to People, the 44-year-old actor quickly said yes to the actress when she asked him to be a guest on her NBC sitcom. "When Eva calls me and asks me to do something for her, I don't hesitate," he told the publication.
In fact, the two are so close he even managed to have her as his guest star on his own 2013 NBC comedy, "Welcome to the Family." He revealed that the producer is like her sister and is actually friends with his wife. She also gets along with his kids.
Chavira will play the role of an ex-convict who is trying to win back Mimi, the best friend of Longoria's character as Ana Sofia. "It's a return to the 'I Love Lucy' dynamic Eva and I had on 'Housewives'," he said.
He also added that his role as a "straight man" for "Lucy and "Ethel" is needed to break down the humor of their "crazy and manic characters." He admitted that he's having a lot of fun playing his role.
Additionally, Longoria plays the character of a neurotic star from a popular telenovela, Daily Mail reported. The series was just recently launched in December. The network asked for a total of 11 episodes in October.
It has been said that "Telenovela" will air its final episode on Feb. 22 and there is no confirmation yet if it will have its second season. Meanwhile, it was an early Valentine Day celebration for Longoria's co-stars as the she gave them all a box of Godiva chocolates.
"Treating my cast to a Public Display of @GODIVA this #VDay! Who doesn't love truffles?" she shared on her Twitter page. The snap featured the cast of the show sitting on a spiral staircase while holding their gold-colored box of Godiva chocolates with red ribbon.
Earn the Necklace noted that this brand is one of expensive and top of the line. However, the activist used the hashtags "LoveGODIVA" and "GODIVAPartner" to promote the product as the gift was actually part of the company's "Public Displays of GODIVA" campaign.
The campaign is about giving chocolates to the one you love and care about to celebrate the heart's month. Longoria used the tagline "Public Displays" as her form of showing her fondness to everyone.
