Set to be one of the best games of 2014, Nintendo is constantly stirring up fever for Super Smash Bros. 4 on the game's official website. As if we needed more reasons to get excited about the latest game in the storied franchise, Nintendo has confirmed King Dedede will bring his trademark hammer to the series yet again for Super Smash Bros. 4.
In celebration of the Japanese release of Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Nintendo recently released several screenshots showing King Dedede's first foray in HD graphics.
Besides King Dedede, another character has been confirmed for the game, but not as a playable character. Ashley from the WarioWare series was confirmed as being an assist trophy for the game. It is unclear what effect Ashley will have on gameplay as the reveal for the character shows her standing still without attacking any other characters or causing a special event to happen. Ashley's inclusion in the game may also possibly hint that Wario, who has not yet been confirmed for the game, could be a part of Super Smash Bros. 4.
Another interesting screenshot from the game shows how the different characters in the game compare to each other in size. Mario is seen surrounded by some of the biggest characters from the game, and they all dwarf the legendary video game star. King Dedede, Donkey Kong, and Bowser also all tower over Mario, showing players that these powerful fighters could be a handful, especially if the player is being attacked all at once by them.
Finally, a screenshot from the 3DS version of the game shows off one of the new stages coming to the series. Rainbow Road, which appeared in the latest trailer for the game, is shown as a part of the actual gameplay for Super Smash Bros. 4. The screenshot shows that players will have to look out for racers flying by them while fighting it out or risk being run over.
These screenshots have revealed more of what we can expect from the heavily hyped game, and hopefully Nintendo can deliver an impressive final product. Its struggling Wii U needs to convince gamers to give the system a chance.
